The cheers were for Minnesota this weekend, as I cheered on my "now older" tennis buddies from Minnesota. They were down from the Twin Cities and were representing the Northern Region in the 60 men's senior division. In the photos, you'll see Denny and Bill and then two of their opponents from the Texas region. All the matches were close and either were won or lost by a 2-1 match score. Even though there can only be one winner amongst 16 regions, it is indeed a fantastic honor to represent your part of the country and be able to show that great Minnesota spirt and have great fun!
In the days and weeks to come, it is my intent to post photos and share my many rich and fulfilling Arizona experiences. Hopefully, this blog will engender and create an interest on the part of the reader to know more about the diversity of the "Grand Canyon State" and possibly visit. (November 23rd, 2009)
I was born and raised in the cold country of Minnesota. After spending thirty seven years in education, retirement in Arizona was my answer. Today, my interests and passions include traveling, playing tennis and being with my grandchildren.
Nice photos of some quite familiar faces. It sounds like they missed the Sunday playdowns. They're still champs in my book.
